Neuromodulators (Botox, Nuceiva & More)
Neuromodulator treatments can soften expression lines and reduce the appearance of wrinkles while maintaining a natural, refreshed look.
These treatments work by temporarily relaxing specific facial muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles, allowing the skin above them to smooth out. The goal is a more rested, balanced appearance without changing how you look.
At Synergy, neuromodulator treatment begins with thoughtful assessment and personalized planning. We take the time to understand your concerns, review your facial movement, and discuss the best approach before treatment, so your results feel natural and appropriate to you.

Our Approach
Treatment is not based on a single brand, but on what will create the most natural and balanced result for your face.
We focus on:

- Maintaining natural movement and expression
- Gradual, consistent improvements over time
Your treatment plan is customized based on your facial anatomy, muscle activity, and aesthetic goals.
Questions & Answers
What is the difference between Botox and newer neuromodulators?
All neuromodulators are based on botulinum toxin type A and work in the same way – by relaxing targeted muscles.
Differences may include:
- Onset time (how quickly results appear)
- Spread and diffusion characteristics
- Injector preference based on treatment area
In practice, the outcome depends more on technique and treatment planning than on the brand itself.
How quickly will I see results?
Results typically begin to appear within a few days, with full effect visible within 1-2 weeks.
Is there any downtime?
No downtime is required. Most patients return to normal activities immediately after treatment.
What are post-treatment instructions?
- Avoid touching the treated area for 24 hours after treatment.
- Avoid exercise or any strenuous activity for 24 hours.
- Avoid lying down for at least 4-6 hours after treatment.
- Avoid consuming alcohol for at least 24 hours.
- Avoid taking any anti-inflammatory medication, such as aspirin or ibuprofen, for at least 24 hours. If you experience any discomfort, take acetaminophen (Tylenol).
- Wait at least 1 to 2 weeks before receiving any other facial treatments, such as facials or chemical peels.
- If you experience any bruising, apply a cold compress to the area for 10-15 minutes every hour.
How much is the consultation fee?
For first-time patients, we encourage a consultation before neuromodulator or filler treatment. This gives you time to ask questions, discuss your goals, and receive a personalized treatment plan before your first injection.
As a new Synergy patient, you may book your initial injectables consultation with either Dr. Philip Barnsley or Alyssa Huth, LPN. For more complex treatment planning, you may prefer to see Dr. Barnsley. His consultation fee is $200.
Consultations with Alyssa Huth, LPN are complimentary as part of your treatment.
